Corporate Councel
Mr. Schmidt works with Cornerstone Technologies, Inc. in the capacity of corporate counsel. He sits on the Board of Directors and acts as legal counsel for analysis of operational protocols, budgets, services and report reviews when appropriate.
He specializes in litigation involving land development and restoration projects with cases of cost recovery from toxic torts, nuisance, physical damages, trespass and violations of federal, state, common and contract law.
In support of Cornerstone Engineers operations, he reviews sensitive matters that may involve liability and legal interpretation, agreements between parties, land development issues concerning CERCLA and Clean Water Act violations, apportionment, and risk allocations on property acquisitions. As corporate counsel, he reviews contracts, revised agreements, work plans and agency communications with consent orders and compliance actions.
Before joining Cornerstone, Mr. Schmidt worked for the premier legal firms of: Latham and Watkins; Graham & James; Anderson, and McPharlin & Conners. Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. Schmidt worked as a project hydrogeologist for Dames & Moore performing environmental compliance investigations, transactional risk analysis for property transfers and due diligence projects.
