SOIL REMEDIATION PROJECT & CLOSURE THROUGH LAFD

Cornerstone was contracted to assess levels of subsurface soil contamination. Cornerstone delineated contaminated soils by taking series of boring samples for laboratory analyses of contaminant concentrations.

Cornerstone excavated the area and removed a total of 203.85 tons of contaminated soils with hazardous levels of nickel and chromium.

After the soil was stabilized and the samples met the clean-up goals, Cornerstone backfilled the site with clean imported soil, re-compacted the soil, and resurfaced with concrete to match existing.

ABOVEGROUND WASH PAD & WASTEWATER OIL SEPARATOR

Cornerstone engineered, permitted and constructed an aboveground wash pad system capable of removing both solids and petroleum hydrocarbons from the washing of industrial concrete pumpers.

The project involved design, permitting with the Los Angeles County Sanitation District as well as construction of the pad, sump, piping and treatment unit system.

South Coast Air Quality

AIR POLLUTION DESIGN, ENGINEERING, PERMITTING, CONSTRUCTION & MONITORING

Cornerstone designed, engineered, permitted, constructed and
monitors a carbon adsorber system for polyurethane manufacturing.

The system reduces emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
This allows the facility to utilize materials that meet customer specifications.

The system maintains environmental compliance with prevailing air quality regulations from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
